assignment Hot August Night
Wednesday 8:00PM August 8th, 2012
Starting the season homestretch now is the time to show ourselves as a serious contender or just another pretender.

10 games to go versus Mayhem, this one was over after 5. Mayhem played well, hit smart and the Sabber pitched so well he must have been juicing the ball though umpire couldn't see it. Which of course, sadly once again, was not all the umpire couldn't see.

As a result of this game the Falcons have updated the 162 year old baseball scoring system to record a new out simply as a "U".

An early Falcon rally was cut short when speedy sophmore SLF easily coasted into second only to be called out. The reasoning "I couldn't see it their pitcher blocked my view".

Later in the game with first open, a Mayhem hit to shallow right field in no man's land, D.C. made a sliding catch and presented the ball to the Umpire for the called out.... so far so good... at this point the second base runner is halfway to third the man on third is sitting on the bench signing autographs for the fans.

Entire Falcon Team "Appeal at two Ump"
Ump "Safe"
Falcon Bench "Appeal at three Ump"
Ump "Safe"

.... but, the purpose the recap is not to rant (too much) had the calls been made with slightly more precision the final might have been 16 - 9 instead of 21 - 7

Post Game Question
How can you watch a sliding catch on the right field foul line and the runner on third base when you can't see second base on an unhindered play?

Boxscore:

Team 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 Final
Mayhem 3 3 0 0 4 7 4 21
Falcons 0 0 0 4 0 3 0 7
