The A's made sure there was no doubt as to who is the most dominant team in the league as their winning streak continued this week. There was some movement further down, as some teams struggled and the Rebels have put together a streak of their own.
#1. A's
(Rank last week: 1)
Record: 12-1-2 (2-0-0 this week)
1st place in the President's Division (1st overall in WMSPL)
The A's scored 44 runs this week, 22 in each game against Storm and the Falcons. Nothing can stop this team right now. They're the best. Around. Nothing's gonna ever keep them down! Crane kick!
#2. Broadway
(Rank last week: 3)
Record: 11-3-2 (1-0-1 this week)
2nd place in the President's Division (2nd in WMSPL)
Broadway moves up this week after going undefeated, which is a huge turnaround from their recent performance.
#3. Storm
(Rank last week: 2)
Record: 10-4-1 (1-1-0 this week)
3rd place in the President's Division (3rd overall in WMSPL)
Storm got trucked by the streaking A's, just like everyone else lately. Then with a short bench, they beat up on Surge and mis-reported the score on the league website, thus giving everyone hope for a couple days.
#4. Rebels
(Rank last week: 9)
Record: 8-8-0 (3-0-0 this week)
2nd place in the Vice President's Division (Tied for 5th th in WMSPL)
Look out for the Rebels, winners of 3 in a row, and taking sole possession of 2nd place in the VP division. They began their week with a sweep of their Sunday doubleheader and followed it with a strong win over SI Play. They've reached .500, can they keep moving up?
#5. Falcons
(Rank last week: 6)
Record: 10-5-0 (1-1-0 this week)
1st place in the Vice President's Division (4th in WMSPL)
The Falcons just can't seem to string any wins together. Leon's return from the DL resulted in a big win over Surge, but they couldn't keep it going against the A's, whom they had beaten before. They remain on top in the VP Division, but with the Rebels doing so well, can they stay there?
#6. Coulas Bone Crushers
(Rank last week: 4)
Record: 7-7-2 (0-1-1 this week)
4th place in the President's Division (Tied for 5th in WMSPL)
After a 6-spot jump last week, Coulas fell two spots this week, mostly because they couldn't get a team together on Sunday to play against SI.
#7. SI Play
(Rank last week: 7)
Record: 7-8-0 (1-1-0 this week)
5th place in the President's Division (7th in WMSPL)
A "meh" week for SI, winning by default on Sunday, then losing to the Rebels on Wednesday. With the half-way point in the season approaching, they're looking at relegation for next season if they can't get it together.
#8. Brew Crew (TIE)
(Rank last week: 5)
Record: ? (? this week)
3rd (?) place in the Vice President's Division (Tied for 7th in WMSPL?)
Another week goes by, another week where it wasn't a priority to post a score on the league's website. I take this as a shot at this column, and a blatant attempt to sabotage it. Whoever won Hanet at Brew Crew on Wednesday is 8th, the other is 9th.
#8. Hanet Plastics (TIE)
(Rank last week: 8)
Record: ? (? this week)
6th place in the President's Division (9th in WMSPL?)
We're living in a SOCIETY here, people. Others want to know what happened, too!
#10. Greenthumb
(Rank last week: 10)
Record: 5-9-1 (1-1-1 this week)
4th place in the Vice President's Division (10th in WMSPL)
In Sunday's doubleheader, Greenthumb destroyed Brew Crew, and then they themselves done got destroyed by the Rebels. A tie with Coulas on Wednesday moved them neither hither nor yon.
#11. Re/Max Crossroads
(Rank last week: 12)
Record: 2-13-0 (1-2-0 this week)
Tied for 5th place in the Vice President's Division (Tied for 11th in WMSPL)
Sunday ended pleasantly for Re/Max, beating Brew Crew by a touchdown. That win gave them enough momentum to climb out of 12th in the Power Rankings.
#12. Surge
(Rank last week: 11)
Record: 2-13-0 (0-2-0 this week)
Tied for 5th place in the President's Division (Tied for 11th in WMSPL)
A winless week drops them back to 12th. Will a week against Brew Crew and SI Play get them back out of the basement?
