Back after another week off. I wonder if anything interesting happened this week?
#1. BROADWAY
(2-0-0 This Week; 12-7-1 Overall; Tied for 4th in President's Division)
(Rank last week: 5)
Giant killers Broadway have won 4 in a row, including handing Storm their first loss of the season. They're still only tied for 4th in the division for some reason, so I guess this 4-game winning streak they're on will continue, unabated.
#2. A'S
(2-0-0 This Week; 12-5 Overall; 2nd in President's Division)
(Rank last week: 4)
The A's are also on a 4-game winning streak, and are ahead of Broadway in the standings. But they haven't beaten Storm yet this year, so they're behind the folks who did.
#3. REBELS
(1-1-0 This Week; 11-5-1 Overall; 3rd in President's Division)
(Rank last week: 2)
The Rebels continue to prove their playoff championship was no fluke, at the expense of the VP division, against whom they're 5-1. They sport the lowest positive run differential in the division, at +21... is a W/L correction imminent?
#4. FALCONS
(1-1-0 This Week; 12-7-1 Overall; Tied for 4th in President's Division)
(Rank last week: 3)
The Falcons ended the first half of their season, in the most Re/Max way possible: a complete team ejection. They were going to lose that game anyway, so it's not like the ejection took anything away (unlike, uh, another team in another league). Plus, Leon still gets to keep score!
#5. HANET
(2-1-0 This Week; 8-7-1 Overall; 1st in Vice President's Division)
(Rank last week: 7)
To no one's surprise, Hanet leads the VP division. It is a little surprising, however, that the lead is only a game-and-a-half. That likely has a lot to do with Hanet's paltry 16 games played, while nearly every other team is over the half-way point. If they can play the make up games without getting exhausted, the lead will increase.
#6. IG WEALTH
(2-0-0 This Week; 7-9-2 Overall; 6th in President's Division)
(Rank last week: 9)
IG Wealth has had a terrific 2-week run, having won 4 in a row. They'll keep climbing the rankings as long as they keep winning.
#7. BREW CREW
(1-2 This Week; 9-11-0 Overall; 2nd in Vice President's Division)
(Rank last week: 6)
A 2-game losing streak drops them a spot in the rankings, and they continue to look up at Hanet in the VP division. If they continue to maintain a -44 run differential, they'll continue to be looking up at first place.
#8. REMAX CROSSROADS
(1-1-0 This Week; 7-11-1 Overall; 3rd in Vice President's Division)
(Rank last week: 8)
Say what you will about Drew and his alarmingly accurate critiquing of the officiating of the league, but his team has never been ejected as a unit. Kudos!
#9. GREENTHUMB
(1-2-0 This Week; 5-11-0 Overall; tied for 4th in Vice President's Division)
(Rank last week: 11)
Speaking of guys who talk enough to get their entire team ejected: Greenthumb. Most of the team forgot they had a game on Wednesday, and the score reflected that only 7 team members showed up. It was rather peaceful, though, with no AC in attendance :) Todd, I'm sure, had to stay home because the league requires you wear a shirt while playing and there was no chance of that in that kind of heat.
#10. COULAS BONE CRUSHERS
(0-3 This Week; 7-13-0 Overall; Tied for 4th in Vice President's Division)
(Rank last week: 10)
Coulas is on another downturn, having lost their last 3 straight. This will surely be followed by a strong upturn, during which they'll win 4 or 5 in a row and make things interesting. Who knows what Coulas is? Are they, in the words of the late Denny Green, "who we [think] they [are]"?
#11. SURGE
(0-2-0 This Week; 0-19-0 Overall; 6th in Vice President's Division)
(Rank last week: 12)
Surge jumps a spot this week solely because they didn't lose to Broadway. They're 0-19, thus guaranteeing that they won't see a winning record this season. But they didn't lose to Broadway this week.
#12. STORM
(1-1 This Week; 16-1-1 Overall; 1st in President's Division)
(Rank last week: 1)
Know who did lose to Broadway? Storm. They lost their first game of the season in devastating fashion, allowing 14 runs over Broadway's last two turns at the plate. They'll end the first half of their season on Friday taking on the Falcons, for whom I'm sure they'll have no animosity even after reading this.
