Alright, Falcons fans, gather 'round, and prepare yourselves for a season unlike any other! We're here to celebrate the 2025 season, a season we're dedicating to a true Falcons' legend, a cornerstone of this franchise, a man who's seen more slo-pitch seasons than some of you have seen birthdays: Barry.

This year, we're not just playing ball; we're on a mission. A quest. A... dare I say, a crusade? That's right, folks, this is the year of #WIFB (Win It For Barry)!

Barry's been a Falcon since 2000. That's not a typo; we're pretty sure he predates sliced bread. And to what does he owe his longevity, you ask? Not to clean living, that's for sure. No, Barry recently discovered the ancient art of yoga. Yes, you heard that right. While the rest of us are icing our rotator cuffs and popping ibuprofen like candy, Barry's in the locker room, achieving inner peace and perfecting his "Warrior Two" pose. He swears it's helped his flexibility, his hand-eye coordination, and his ability to explain to the umpire, in a calm, centered voice, why that pitch clearly didn't hit the board.

But there's so much more to Barry. Over the years, he's developed a batting grip that can only be described as "unorthodox," a style that confounds pitchers and delights our stat-keeper, mostly because he's not sure how to describe it.

And, in what helps define Barry's glorious Falcons' career, he hits bombs. Yes, bombs, and can even do so while wearing gardening gloves. We're not sure if it's for extra grip, extra flair, or if he just forgot to take them off after tending to his petunias, but the results are undeniable.

Now, here's the thing about Barry. He's been with us through thick and thin, through pop-flies and strikeouts, through Falcons symposiums and hay days of repeated bridesmaid seasons, through questionable calls (a couple questionably 🤦‍♂️ resulting in his ejection) and even more questionable post-game celebrations. Every year, he's been there... except for one. You guessed it: the one year we won the championship.

So, in his declared final year with the Falcons, we dedicate this season to Barry: may his chakras be aligned, his batting average be high, may his gardening gloves bring him luck, and may we finally win a title with him on the field, proving that enlightenment, unorthodox batting grips, and slo-pitch softball can, in fact, coexist.
