Throughout the history of baseball the age old argument persists, does a good offense beat a good defense. The mighty Falcons, Whitby's most beloved team did not answer that question on Sunday but did prove a good defense beats no offense as they managed only 11 hits and stranded men on third with no one out twice.

The lone highlight of the night was a Digger single, stole second, moved to third a Sac Fly and scored on a Barry single.

Perhaps it was the 5:00 p.m. start time, perhaps it was being on an unfamliar bench. The fines were plentiful this fine night and in his post-game comments on the 6 - 1 loss Coach Tennant accurately summed up the team's performance by saying "%&$@$ #)%*@$# %&#$^$ $*#@ $!@ in the @*%$*# five minutes before &#^@*#& game time".
