In the third and final regular season meeting of these two division leaders both teams wanted this one. It was the power and offense of the Falcons against the speed and defense of Direct.Whitby's most beloved team jumped out early with a 6 run first inning but Direct roared back with 7 in the top of the second for a 9 - 7 lead after two.
With the makings of a slugfest in the works both defenses tightened up with solid work on both sides and a couple of great, rally killing left field catches by Booboo from the Falcons and Scotty from Direct.
Falcons scored 2 in the third and 5 more on a two out rally in the fourth. Direct's comeback attempt came in the sixth when they scored 4 with no outs but the Falcons settled down to end it there and Direct came up one run short in the 14 - 13 Falcon victory.
In the home run race Chef banged out his 28th with 4 more ducks.
