assignment Falcons' Defense Comes Up Big

Whitby's most beloved team sent 42 batters to the plate last night and turned in their best defensive performance of the season on the way to a 13 - 3 victory over their division rival "St. Louis Devils".A great balanced attack from the entire team including a rare third inning double from the anemic bat of Rance Mulliniks (now batting .092) resulted in runs scored in 6 of 7 innings.
The Falcons iced this one in the sixth on a mental error by Devil's first baseman Robin Nadeau, who was dragged off the bag rather than wait for the 12 foot wide throw to tail back in. This allowed Jerry Junior to safely reach first and the Falcons went on to score 4 runs in the inning.
