Retired coach �Iron Mike� Murphy made his first appearance at a Falcons game just after missing a seven-run first inning, as the Falcons went on to defeat the Rebels 14-9 in the first of two on Sunday evening. This game was played on K2 Field at Maypo Yards.

Iron Mike promised to provide the team with all the free beer they could drink after every game for the rest of the 2013 season if they could beat the plucky Rebels by the exact score of 14-9. If you ever want to see what a motivated Falcons team looks like, get in your time machine and see the team during this game. Surely by no miracle, the Falcons (10-2), did indeed score exactly 14 and give up exactly 9. And now Iron Mike, who believes everything he reads on the internet, and especially this website, will bring the beer for the rest of the year. Oh, and he also agreed to perform the score from �HMS Pinafore� for us after each game.

Yet another learning opportunity presented itself in the fifth inning when Don�t call me Dick demonstrated the exact WRONG way to slide into second base. It looked like one of those videos you see of a stadium being imploded. Anyway, expert slider Senior said he�ll work on some more diagrams and post them later.

Thanks to three jacks by Goliath, and expert advice coming from the stands, the Falcons cruised to victory to run their winning streak to a solid 8. Only four more for more free beer.

Game Notes: What was up with Tank�s �shorts�? He and Dougothy should get together to form the Worst Dressed club� The Beaver Fan Club was founded, with Don�t call me Dick as the founding, and currently, only member� Dinner should brace himself for another stint at leadoff� Iron Mike also promised to fund Falcons Weekend in Las Vegas. It�s on the internet, so it�s true� The Falcons only sent three men out for the bottom of the seventh: Pitcher Cashley, shortstop Fo' Shizzle, and first baseman Don't call me Dick. It was all they needed, as each batter in that inning was put out 6-3, 6-3, 6-3.
