assignment Falcons Take Game One Of Doubleheader Over Xtreme
Sunday 8:00PM August 18th, 2013
Small ball wins games, as evidenced by Sunday nights 11-7 Falcon victory in six innings over 2011 WMSPL Playoff Tournament Champion Xtreme Contracting. The Falcons (22-9) had only two extra base hits, doubles by Tank and Beaver. The defence held strong for most of this game, finally giving up the ghost in the top of the seventh inning. Unfortunately the game ran into the hard-stop time limit of 1:25 and the score had to revert to the end of the sixth. The Falcons offence was consistent, putting up runs in each inning except the fifth.
This is a big win for us, said Chief Sound Bite Officer Dougothy, that gives us two in a row. If we can do it again, itll be three, right?
I hate those guys, was not said by Xtreme superstar Mike Anderson, theyre always beating us when it counts most. I wish I played for the Falcons!
There was no time for celebration, however, as the Falcons had to quickly retake the field for game two of the doubleheader versus current Presidents Division leading Storm.
Game Notes: Never a dull moment when it's Xtreme vs. Falcons... The Falcon bench was weighed down by the weight of a full team... Team triple production is down...
