Tank broke out of his slump with five RBIs, and Fo' Shizzle continued his blazing pace as the Falcons earned an important victory over Sean's Division rival and pumpkin patch lookalike Storm on a beautiful Father's Day afternoon at K1 Stadium.

With the bleachers full of future Falcons, plus their moms and sisters, the Falcons took the field to face what appeared to be an explosion at the road cone factory. The Storms stormed out (HA!) to an early lead, scoring 3 runs in the top of the first. The Falcons couldn't do dick with their half of the first, so the pumpkins lead after one, 3-0. Eleven of Tropicana's finest couldn't produce (HA!) in the top of the second and the Falcons manufactured a run of their own to shorten the Storm's lead to only two.

The Falcons put up a four-spot in the bottom of the third to take a brief lead, but coughed it up to the Loraxes in the top of the fourth when they scored 3 more. Going into the bottom of the fourth, the 1978 Tampa Bay Buccaneers held a slim 6-5 lead. The Falcons put their foot on the gas at this point, and plated 14 runs over the next two innings. The random scattering of cans of Orange Crush scored seven in the top of the sixth, but it wasn't enough.

The Falcons have now won five straight, and are unbeaten in six. They take the field against Mayhem on Tuesday at 8:00 on K2, thirsty for the free beer that would follow a victory.

Game Notes: The victory moves the Falcons within a half-game of first place in the Sean's Division... If the scale on Google Maps is at all accurate, Bird's homer traveled 350'... Other things that are orange but didn't make it into the recap: carrots, some helicopters, the jerseys of my favourite football team, the wrappers Reece's Peanut Butter Cups come in, Snooki, creamsicles.
