Don't let the score fool you, the nine Falcons that showed up crapped the bed on Monday night dropping their third in a row with a whimpering 22-17 loss to Mayhem at K1 Stadium.

The Mayhem bats were on fire on this night, plating 7 runs in each of the first two innings and putting the Falcons in a hole from which their usually potent line up couldn't dig out. I guess that makes their line up im-potent. The trend of fielding a short team continued, with the Falcons having to borrow a catcher to avoid having to play with only three fielders and making the gaps that Mayhem were hitting that much more wide.

After watching Mayhem jump out to a commanding lead, the Falcons mythical manager decided to change starting pitcher Skinny Teets (a pitch-to-contact guy, which WASN'T WORKING), to Curtis' Dad (more of a swing-and-miss guy) for the remainder of the game. Teets retreated to left field where he showed off his range and fielding ability by nearly having to dive to make that one catch. Barry shut the Mayhem run faucet off, allowing only 8 runs over the final 5 innings. The Falcons sent 8 men to the plate in the bottom of the seventh without recording an out, but ran into the damnable time limit to end it.

Sasquatch and Curtis' Dad each had two home runs. A rarety in baseball, and even in slo-pitch, Mayhem decided to issue an intentional walk to Sasquatch with the bases loaded. Four Falcons had two doubles apiece, but it wasn't enough to overcome Mayhem's first two monster innings.

Next up for the Falcons: A rescheduled rainout results in a home-and-home between the Falcons and the Tranquility A's this weekend, with the A's visiting the Falcons on Friday on K2 at 8:00 and the Falcons returning the favour on Sunday at 5:00, also on K2.

Cycle Watch: The last time a Falcon hit for the cycle was May 19, 2010. No one came close today.
