It seems that the Goliath of old has returned to form. He led the Falcons to an 12-4 victory on Monday night behind the strength of two home runs and 5 RBI at his favourite stadium (K1, where hitting a tennis player with a batted ball is a good thing).

Both teams seemed slugish out of the gate, likely due to the long holiday weekend activities. At the end of the fourth inning, the score read 2-1, so low that it would look out of place at a beer league hockey game, never mind slo pitch. The Falcons lone run in the first half of the game came when Goliath launched a Porter (and I don't mean a Bombardier Dash-8 Q 400 turboprop) in the second, the Falcons second hit of the game. The Falcons only managed 4 more hits after that before the offence caught fire in the top of the fifth. The team strung together 4 singles, a walk and a well timed Goliath Bomb to plate the game winning runs.

Up Next For The Falcons: The Falcons enter murderer's row this weekend, beginning Friday at 8:00 with a visit to the Juggernaut Storm, owners of a 20 game winning streak. Game Notes: I'm buying a beer for whomever noted the double play on the scoresheet for me... The umpiring pool must be pretty shallow, seeing that they had to send Gimpy McCripple hobbling around out there... Attendees were fortunate to see a rare sight: Barry swinging (and missing) wildly at what would have been ball 3 to record the Full Pizza K... Beaver's out for the season, anyone want to take his place?
