The Legend wrote a new chapter in his legendary book of legendness by cashing the tying run as time expired so the 8-man Falcons could salvage a tie at 17 with Coulas on Tuesday night.

With 6 infielders signed out for the game, SLF was called in to play emergency 2nd base, and definitely showed up. His performance was better than, say, if you had put a turnip there. Turnips ARE nutritious, however.

Anyway, with such a short bench, everyone got 6 at-bats. Some, like Curtis, made the most of them by hitting 5 singles and a sacrifice fly. Others, like Lonny, made significant contributions to the pizza fund. Lonny tied Sean's one-game pizza contribution record with two full pies, leaving runners on third twice, fouling out, and whiffing on strike three. If his fit bit isn't helping him lose weight, surely that much coin being lifted from his wallet will do the trick.

Coulas led the entire way, scoring 4 in the first, 6 in the second and 3 in the third. The Falcons remained close behind, but couldn't quite catch up. With the 85-minute time limit approaching, the Falcons made quick work of Coulas in the top of the seventh and with only 5 minutes to play ran 4 guys to the plate. Shizzle singled for the third time, he moved to second on SLF's fielder's choice, and scored on The Legend's bloop single to shallow right field.

The Falcons will now take a week off before returning to battle next Tuesday to face Greenthumb.

Cycle Watch: The last time a Falcon hit for the cycle was May 19, 2010. Coach Shizzle came within a triple tonight.

Game Notes: Pizza!... SLF has yet to perfect Dougie's "cloud of dust" maneuver to stop ground balls... Who's covering 2nd?... 1-3-1 was not the way we wanted to start the season
