The Falcons and A's were the bringers of rain, launching 11 combined home runs before the heavy rain washed out a walk-off Falcons victory in the tail end of a Sunday night double header.

The Falcons sent 49 men to the plate, and 5 of them walked (got it, Doug?) Rain drops began falling in the top of the second inning, and the downpours soon followed. But since it hasn't rained in, what, 11 months? the field eagerly absorbed most of the precipitation allowing the teams to continue to play while getting soaked.

Zed continued his late-to-the-party run at the team MVP, crushing 2 dingers. Poutine was nearly unrecognizably clean-shaven. Teets still wasn't wearing his newly arrived tighter fitting jersey. SLF dropped some balls, caught others. President Doom had to play left field and even ran a bit. G3 played a 9:30 game!

In the bottom of the 6th inning with rain raining and more rain waiting to rain, the Falcons only need a run to tie and 2 to pull out the unlikely second consecutive walk-off win. They loaded the bases with no one out, and SLF promptly hit into a fielder's choice, cutting Zed down at home before he could score the tying run. Junior Jenkins hit an infield fly to record the second out. Up came the aptly named Legend. With two strikes, he oppo-taco'd a double to clear the bases and plate the winning runs.

The Falcons return to the field on Wednesday when the forecast is for a bit less rain.

Inside-the-park Home Run Watch: The last time a Falcon hit an inside-the-park home run was July 23, 2012.

Game Notes: Still rather play in that rain than in that cold... Junior Thompson has reduced his demands from being permanently taken out of the lead-off spot to simply not leading off on Sundays... Asked later about his mindset with two strikes and the game on the line, The Legend replied "Well, I was thinking I had to hit the next one!" Classic Lege, right there... You can tell you're playing ball with a bunch of old men when it starts torrentially downpouring and the talk doesn't turn to field conditions, or strategy in rainy situations, but comments of "Man, my grass sure needs this!"
