Monday 9:30PM August 1st, 2016

The Falcons saw a couple of players return to the active roster for this holiday Monday 9:30PM game vs. their mid-season tournament teammates: Teets from the DL and Beaver from his extended assignment with the Pigeons.

After a Phil Garbutt solo home run in the top of the first, eight Greenthumb players took the field and played with 3 outfielders for most of the inning.

The Falcons took advantage as they batted through the order by the time a tardy fourth outfielder arrived, and sent 15 total batters to the plate scoring 9 runs by the time the 3rd out was recorded.

The teams then swapped 9 runs over the next four and a half innings where the Falcons took an 18-10 lead going into the bottom of 6.

With 2 on, Zed finally decided to avoid Greenthumb's left-center fielder hitting an SLF motivating shot to opposite field that's put him in contention for the coveted triples crown.

Up next was Million Dollar Bill who easily avoided a pizza fine, cashing Zed on a solid single to left.

3 batters later, having gone 3 for 4 to that point, with 2 solid stand-up doubles, and Poutine reminding everyone seemingly after every pitch who his favourite Dunn was, up sauntered Beaver with bases loaded.

In hopes of putting an end to Poutine's incessant admiration of his favourite Dunn, Dinner was praying for a strikeout. But with heroics the Falcons have seen before, Beaver delivered, parking a grand slam over the right-center field fence that put the proverbial nail in the coffin.

Inside-the-park Home Run Watch: The last time a Falcon hit an inside-the-park home run was July 23, 2012.

Game Notes: Quote of the Day: "He's better than you Sean!"... Tank dropped by to say his farewells (thanks for scoring for us Cas!)... Pikachu and Zed, combining for five F8s, know now Rod CAN catch... Trying not to sneeze, Teets goes 5 for 5 on 5 check swings!
