Needing a win over Greenthumb to secure the #4 seed in the 2016 WMSPL Playoff Tournament, the Falcons pooped the bed AGAIN, this time dropping the season finale by a final score of 19-17, I think. Carlton will have to confirm, I guess. Like it matters. Falcons lost. 5 seed.

With the playing field deemed "questionable" for play by the players standing on the hill playing with themselves prior to game time, semi-pro officiant Farmer Matt donned the wellies to investigate. After a hearty amble over the infield, the outfield, and the bog that served as the warning track, Farmer Matt deemed the field "suitable for play" (not a direct quote).

The two teams took the field with lightning flashing nearly constantly in the distance. The lightning would persist throughout the game. G3, with something to prove (or win, I suppose), led off the game with a Dunner (the new Porter?) to put the Falcons up 1-0. The Falcons would score 3 more in the top of the first to take a 4-0 lead. In the top of the second, G3 came up with 2 out and no one on and hit ANOTHER DUNNER, this one barely fair down the right field line. Much celebration ensued by Dougothy and I guess now Drewber has to wear a bra throughout the 2016 WMSPL Playoff Tournament. How's that different than normal, you ask? This time, he has to wear it on the OUTSIDE of his uniform.

The Falcons had some decent offence (G3), and some excellent defence (G3, who was putting on a clinic). Unfortunately, there was also some questionable baserunning (SLF), and some questionable defence (SLF). Greenthumb had a great day and deserved to finish the season on a winning note.

Inside-the-park Home Run Watch: The last time a Falcon hit an inside-the-park home run was July 23, 2012. This game? HA!

Game Notes: The Falcon defence, like the field, was a bit sloppy... Junior Jenkins put an exclamation point on his season with 4 RBI in this one... MVPoutine, not wanting to risk doing anything that might cost him votes, stayed home... Should I have been counting Pikachu's spouse in the attendance figures this whole time? "She" is at every game... Quicksand in the dugout!
