Five home runs, including two each by Poutine and Beatty, powered the Falcons to a 31-13 victory over struggling Surge on Monday night.

Surge started off on a sour note with a whiff on their lead off batter, but recovered to score 3 in the top of the first inning. The Falcons managed to respond in-kind with a three-spot of their own. Surge's momentum didn't carry over into the second and they only sent 4 batters to the plate. A MAX6 response from the home side gave them a lead they wouldn't relinquish.

Game notes: Despite turning the big FIVE-OH in a couple weeks, Dunner is maintaining a performance peak that's lasted since he turned 40. His latest feat: THREE triples in this game to give him 9 on the season, three ahead of next-best Cowboy, and only two away from Cowboy's team record of 11 in a season with 13 games to go... Poutine hit what should now be called "Pulling a Poutine", which would be hitting a home run where the batter's run doesn't count because it's more than the max allowed in an inning... Things previously called "Pulling a Poutine": driving around school zones in a windowless white van despite not having any trades-skills to speak of; being the subject of a campus-wide "alert"; emptying the cooler before anyone else gets one... SLF and Miner Leaguer, occupying the bottom two spot in the batting order, went a combined 2-for-7. There was a time when these two used to be 1-2 in the batting order. Sigh... No Homie doodles on the scoresheet tonight.

** A previous version of this recap reported that Barry Guerrero Jr hit a never-to-be-renamed Duncan in the 5th inning. It was, in fact, a majestic two-run bomb, and no shame should be brought on Barry Guerrero Jr for this feat of awesomeness.
