The Falcons dropped to .500 on the season with a 23-16 loss to Broadway in a game that really wasn’t that close for that long.

After allowing the first three Broadway batters to score in the top of the first inning, the Falcon defence (sans Shelly Two-Bags, who failed to sign out) shut the door. Things looked promising for the home side early. Five of the first six Falcon batters scored, and after one the Falcons led 5-3.

That would be the last time it was going well if you bleed blue.

Broadway scored a MAX6 in the second and didn’t record and out, then shut out the Falcons in the bottom of the frame. They put up another MAX6 in the third, and though they allowed 4 to the Falcons in response, led 15-9 after three.

Three in the fourth, two in the fifth, and, well, you can read the boxscore. The game was only an inning and a half old before the Falcons were permanently in the rear-view mirror.

Game notes: The most excitement for the Falcons occurred pre-game, as Teets lent Dunner his trapper, as Dunner would be playing first for the first time in forever. You’d have thought it was Christmas morning for Dunner, who hadn’t been this excited to wear a glove since he was a teenager.
