Triple Play scored four in the bottom of the seventh inning and walked off the Falcons in a 15-14 final score.The Falcons were unable to replicate the offensive output on display mere minutes earlier, but it's not like they didn't try. The scorecard is full of notes like "F-this" and "F-that", which is pretty much what the players and fans had to say about the game. Grandpa Beatty bounced one off the weeping tile in deep left-centre but it somehow stayed in the park for a single. He later hit another one to within 18 inches of the first one for a long, loud out. He was denied the chance to replicate it in the seventh when he was intentionally walked in a regular-season game.
The game was very much a defensive clinic put on by both teams, if you ignore both teams' MAX6s in the third inning, and pretty much any ball hit in SLF's direction.
Going into the seventh, the Falcons were already up a run and managed to push across two more for some insurance. Triple Play didn't seem to mind and hit a string of well placed singles to score four to secure the walk-off victory.
Game Notes: With two games left in the regular season, the Falcons find themselves in fifth place overall... At 88 RBI and 85 RBI, Dunner and Grandpa Beatty, respectively, have been having top-10 all time duck-cashing seasons... Clearly inspired by Dr J's performance in game one of the doubleheader, Flash hit his first triple of the season.
