assignment Falcons win 2nd straight
Monday 9:30PM August 5th, 2024
It's a rare game night when 13 Falcons show up to play, but it happened Monday at K1 vs Hanet. A perfect opportunity for Labrecque to ignore the defensive lineup, get other people to play for him and sit a few extra innings!

After three straight singles to start the top of the 1st, Old Jer knocked in two and Poutine one with singles. Hanet would score one in the inning, Falcons up 3-1.

After a Falcons not so delicious donut, a few batters into the bottom 2nd, Ash asked to be relieved of his duties, but Flash could not stop the bleeding, and Hanet put up a max 6 spot in the 2nd. Falcons down 7-3.

The Falcons bats got back to work in the 3rd, behind a Dunner RBI double, a Beatty 2 RBI single, an Old Jer RBI single, a Poutine sac fly, and a Dr. J RBI single. That's a max 6 spot for the Falcons. With a string of Hanet hits in the 3rd inning scoring 5, Hanet was up 12-9.

Thanks to a two RBI single by Ash, the good guys put up two in the top of the fourth inning. Flash seemed to find his inner Shohei, and Hanet put up a delicious donut in the bottom half of the inning. Ok fine, it was largely the Old Jer heroics in left center field that got us out of the inning, nailing the poor Hanet runner at home that thought he could tag up on Jeremy. Of course the great stretch catch at the plate from Labrecque helped, don't over exert yourself there, Labrecque! That's an inning ending double play, Falcons down 12-11.

Team Blue dinked and dunked a few more runs in the fifth, with an Old Jer RBI single, and a fresh off the bench Labrecque two RBI single. Hanet would plate 1 run in the inning, Falcons take the lead 14-13.

A Cowboy sac fly was all the offense the Falcons could muster in the 6th. Thankfully Hanet went three up, three down, and ate another delicious donut, Falcons up 15-13.

It's been a while since we scored a bunch of runs late in the game, right? Old Grandpa Beatty got the party started with a lovely Duncan in the bushes over the left center field fence. Dr. J knocked in two with a single, then three straight RBI singles from Flash, New Grandpa Bill, and Miner Leaguer. Ash knocked in two more with a single, and Dunner two with another double. Right before he was due up again in this bat-around Falcons 7th inning, Beatty appears in the on deck circle, giving up his search for the home run ball. Beatty you should've asked Labrecque to search for you, he's used to hanging out in the park bushes! Old Grandpa proceeded to deposit another ball over the fence, this time a two run shot, on the easier to find your ball grassy hill in left field. That's two dingers in the inning for Beatty, 12 runs for the Falcons. With time running out in the game clock, Jerome, Grahambo and Billy got in on the DP action (not that kind of DP action, Labrecque!) with an infield double play of their own in the 7th. That's another delicious Hanet donut, Falcons win 27-13.

Boxscore:

Team 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 Final
Falcons 3 0 6 2 3 1 12 27
Hanet 1 6 5 0 1 0 0 13
